Professor Dennis Lo

- Associate Dean (Research), Faculty of Medicine, CUHK

- Scientific Director, Centre for Novostics Limited

Professor Dennis Lo discovered the presence of circulating fetal DNA in pregnant women’s blood plasma and made non-invasive DNA-based prenatal testing a reality. His team has developed a Down syndrome test that has been adopted in over 90 countries.

In recognition of his work, Professor Dennis Lo has been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the King Faisal International Prize in Medicine in 2014 and the Future Science Prize - Life Science Prize in 2016. Recently, Professor Dennis Lo received the 2021 Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences, an award renowned as the "Oscars of Science".
